(Some first kiss drabbles!)

Hana Yori Dango, Nishikado Soujiroh/Matsuoka Yuki, "27 November 2005: And the feeble brain scrambles desperately to translate", 100 Words.

She knows he is only doing it to prove a point, to make it seem more real, to prove what a man he is by how many women he has had and is still getting, and she knows she is the object of envy and quite a bit of hatred in regards to all the girls in the surrounding area.

-But Nishikado-san's lips are so soft, and the way he leaned down to kiss her with such confidence, knowing he would never be denied, sure that it would be well received, Yuki can't find it in her to care.

There is a split-second beforehand, a moment of thought in which he realises that afterwards everything could crash down around him most thoroughly and completely. He could ruin a friendship that has survived so much, such distance and so many years apart while hope and faith kept them hanging on to memories of one another when there was nothing else to be offered.

And yet, the afterwards, Sei thinks to himself, may come and take whatever it believes it can, because there is no way for it to take back from him this very first kiss that comes before.

notes: Prompted by Cyn with this image. 147 Words. Uh, as for spoilers, I'd say this makes more SENSE during the second season, but not that it really spoils anyhing.

Tsukushi never thinks of herself as a long-suffering friend, not with all the things she has put Yuki through in recent times. Yuki always listens well and makes thoughtful faces and tries to find solutions to her problems, and so Tsukushi does the same, and more. When Yuki is not-so-subtly whining about Nishikado-san, Tsukushi nods along sympathetically.

"It's just the way he is, I know," Yuki says, "you did warn me there might be girls-"

"Lots of girls, Yuki," Tsukushi says before her mouth can stop itself. "Lots and lots. Tons. He's a playboy. Uh, though I'm sure if he just found the right girl he would change!"

"You're so lucky, Tsukushi-chan," Yuki sighs. She puts her head in her hands. "Domyouji-san isn't like that at all, is he? You always get his undivided attention."

"Uh, yeah," Tsukushi replies, but she looks more dismayed than pleased about it.

notes: Prompted by Cyn with this image. 284 Words. Set at no particular point in the series. I don't know where I was going with this. But I no longer care because it was fun to write :D

Domyouji likes having money. He used to like it for what it could get him, the influence it gave him over others, but now he's starting to realise his influence isn't worth the money he's been flaunting, not since he really had to pay attention in college and knuckle down. Now he knows just how little he actually knew.

These days he likes having money for what he can buy for Makino. Even though everytime she just shakes her head or rolls her eyes at him, sometimes even hits him on the arm and exclaims, "when on earth will I ever be need to use this?!" Whether it's nice clothes or shoes or gold-plated accessories (he had always believed the phone a huge success and was only trying to stick with what worked).

"Just stop," Makino says eventually, and though he says of course he won't, Domyouji does begin to cut down a little on the presents. Only a little. Jewellery, after all, is the key. He knows that no matter what, even if she wears it tucked in underneath her clothes, she is always wearing that necklace. He almost prefers when it can't be seen, when it's right next to her skin.

He even likes having money just because without it he wouldn't know Tsukushi would actually prefer he didn't spend it on frivilous things. Sometimes it's fun to be put in his place, because then next time he can go one step further, bigger and better, and ultimately even more ridiculous, just to ruffle her up. She looks so pretty with the fire in her eyes and the gritted teeth he just knows are hiding a loving smile deep down somewhere.
