Onyx Ring [Prince of Tennis: Tezuka, Fuji]

Tezuka, Fuji, grandparents, rings, responsibilities, and pain. 89 words.

-

Tezuka wears a huge black onyx ring which Fuji knows was given to him by his grandfather, in memory of his grandmother. He wears it on only three days in the year; his grandmother's birthday, mother's day, and the day his grandmother died. Fuji respects that Tezuka would uphold the tradition for his grandfather, but wonders why in life Tezuka is so keen to take all responsibilities onto himself, even those which he does not need to. Eventually, Fuji realises it is not responsibility Tezuka craves, but pain.
